About

Ewa Lopocz-Wardawy is a Polish-German soprano distinguished by her expressive depth and a rich, full lyrical timbre. Born in Racibórz, Poland, she is currently based in Berlin.

She completed her Master’s degree at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under the guidance of Professor Jan Ballarin. As a participant in the Erasmus Programme, she also undertook advanced vocal studies at the University of Ostrava in the class of Professor Eva Dřizgova.

At an early stage of her artistic education, she made her operatic debut at the Silesian Opera Bytom, appearing as Princess Stasi in Emmerich Kálmán’s Die Csárdásfürstin.

Her current repertoire encompasses, among others, roles such as Mimì (La Bohème), Liu (Turandot) Micaëla (Carmen), Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöteand Desdemona (Otello).

Ewa is presently honing her voice under the guidance of the renowned soprano Dorothea Röschmann as well as coach and conductor Geoffrey Loff (Komische Oper Berlin). Her artistic growth has also been shaped through work with notable artists including Madelyn Renée, Tanja Ariane Baumgartner, Marek Rzepka, Ewa Płonka, Clarry Bartha, and Takeshi Moriuchi.

She is a laureate of several international vocal competitions, including Iuventus Canti (Slovakia), Pro Bohemia Ostrava (Czech Republic), Ars et Gloria (Poland), and the Talent International Competition in Brescia (Italy).

In the 2026/2027 season, Ewa will join the production team of Karol Szymanowski’s Król Roger at Komische Oper Berlin as Polish language coach.

Alongside her artistic career, Ewa is deeply committed to humanitarian and educational initiatives. She spent a year teaching at the African Music School, the first music school in the Central African Republic.

In addition, during her mission in the heart of Africa, she brought opera to the equatorial rainforest, performing for Pygmy communities and sharing the universal power of the human voice far beyond the traditional concert stage.
